Unlike the climbers and trailers, bonplandii is a "bird's nest" anthurium — it grows as a bold rosette of broad, leathery, glossy leaves that arch outward in dramatic curves from a central nest. Emphasis on the "leathery" leaves.  I personally LOVE these leaves.  I can just "pet" them all day!  They are sturdy leaves with some substance to them, so they are pretty "busy household" friendly for bumps and knocks against the plant.  

This rare pink variegated form takes that architecture and paints it: unpredictable marbling of blush pink, creamy white, and vivid green streaked across each thick, glossy leaf, and new growth that often emerges in a moody purplish flush before settling in. No two leaves come out alike, so every new one is a little event. A collector's plant that rewards you with spectacular displays — and it makes a genuine statement piece.

Light holds the pink. Bright indirect is what maintains the pink and variegation — too little and it drops leaves and mutes toward green, direct sun and it scorches. That light-dependency plus the slow growth is why it's tagged "needs a routine" rather than easygoing.
